Owensville Couple Win $10,000 Prize

Story Photo With Christmas right around the corner and taxes due, an Owensville couple said winning $10,000 couldn’t have come at a better time. Diana Brown, 58, and Ricky Crider, 52, said they plan to use their prize money to have "a great Christmas."
Crider, a production supervisor, said he stopped by Break Time, 702 W. Highway 28 in Owensville, on Nov. 29 with his brother to buy a few Scratchers tickets. He said he purchased three "$250,000 Mega Cash" Scratchers tickets. He scratched the first ticket and didn’t win anything. He won $100 on the second ticket he scratched, and then he won $10,000 on the third ticket.
"I couldn’t believe it," Crider explained. "I turned to my brother and said, ’Look at this, and make sure I’m seeing what I think I’m seeing.’ He didn’t say anything, but his bottom jaw just dropped."
Crider said he went home and told Brown, an operator in a local factory, and she couldn’t believe it either.
Crider and Brown said they plan to use their winnings to pay their county taxes and have a great Christmas with their four children and nine grandchildren.
The $10 game, "$250,000 Mega Cash," officially began on Jan. 31, 2007.
