Columbia Woman Wins $10,002 Lottery Prize

Kiki Gross of Columbia said she her face was beginning to hurt from smiling so much after she discovered she won $10,002 playing the Missouri Lottery’s "Frosty Bingo" Scratchers game on Nov. 19.  Gross, 32, said she purchased her winning ticket when she stopped at Gerbes, 205 E. Nifong Blvd. in Columbia, to pick up some pizza for her sons.
"I got $2 in change, and I thought I would buy a ticket," Gross said.  "I was looking at the $1 tickets, but that "Frosty Bingo" ticket just seemed to be jumping out at me.  It was like that carrot nose on the snowman (design on the Scratchers ticket) was sticking out.  I had to buy it."
Gross, who works as a waitress, said she took the ticket home to scratch it, and it was her son who noticed that she had won $10,000, the game’s top prize.
"I just started jumping up and down, and I grabbed my son and kissed him," Gross said after she realized how much she had won.  "This is a true blessing.  I just moved into a new house and Christmas is coming up.  This is really a true blessing."
Gross, the mother of three sons, said she plans to use her winnings to finish furnishing her new home, donate some to her new church and put the rest of it in the bank.
"Frosty Bingo," a $2 game, officially began on Oct. 27.
