Kansas Couple Claim $2.6 Million Missouri Lotto Ticket

Story Photo A Leawood, Kan., couple are saving for their family’s future after they won $2.6 million when their Missouri Lottery Lotto ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Sept. 1 to win the jackpot. William and Elizabeth Berg purchased their winning ticket at QuikTrip, 13100 Holmes in Kansas City.
William Berg, 76, said he and his wife are putting the money back for their family. They claimed their prize on Oct. 18. The couple selected the cash option of the prize, which is $1,570,020.
The Bergs let the computer Quick Pick their winning numbers, which were: 5, 23, 27, 34, 41 and 43.
In addition to the Bergs’ prize, QuikTrip received a check equal to 1 percent of the winning jackpot, which in this case was $26,000.
There have been 169 winning Missouri Lotto jackpot tickets sold and 237 jackpot tickets worth $1 million or more overall since the Lottery began in 1986.
