Arkansas Man Wins $1 Million Scratchers Prize
A Berryville, Ark., man struck it rich when he uncovered a $1 million prize on a Missouri Lottery "$100 Million Cash Spectacular" Scratchers ticket. Donny Easley, 56, was working near Eagle Rock when he stopped by L & L Stores, Highway 86 and P in Eagle Rock, to purchase gas on Oct. 11.
"While I was getting diesel in my truck, I went inside to buy a Lottery ticket," said Easley, who is a self-employed excavator. "I scratched it off outside. I couldn’t believe what it said, so I took it back in to have them (store employees) check it.
"They were pretty excited," Easley said about the store employees.
Easley said he called his wife, Jean Ann, to tell her the good news, but it took a lot of convincing.
"She didn’t believe me," he said. "I think my son is more excited about it than I am."
Easley said he plans to use his prize winnings to pay bills and to buy some equipment for work. He also plans to make some investments and share some with his two sons.
The "$100 Million Cash Spectacular
" game started on Sept. 10, 2005, and has one of the highest payouts in the Lottery’s history. To date, 237 Missouri Lottery tickets worth $1 million or more have been sold in the Lottery’s 21 years of sales. Of those winning tickets, 22 were from Scratchers games, nine of which have been from the "$100 Million Cash Spectacular" game.
