Sedalia Co-Workers Named Lottery Team of the Month

Story Photo Congratulations to the "WRCA Diehards" of Sedalia! The group was recognized as the Lottery Team of the Month for October as part of the Missouri Lottery’s 2007 Lottery Captains promotion. The promotion awards a Lottery players group with prizes and a feature at Molottery.com each month during the calendar year.
The "WRCA Diehards" are a group of 47 co-workers from a wire rope company in Sedalia, who have played Powerball together for two years. The members are: Mona Wells (team captain), Jon Close and Glenva Skidmore, all of Green Ridge; Steve Weber, Bunceton; Rick Kriesel, Centertown; Dennis Hones, Vernon Roe and Howard Weathers, all of Cole Camp; Mary Willett, Cross Timbers; Jerry Johnson, Hughesville; Jim Harrison, Mark Harrison and Eric Livengood, all of LaMonte; Jerry Gleason and Tom Richards, both of Marshall; Larry Stormer, Mora; Ron Blum, Jim Cottrell, Dave Cramer, John Davis, Brad Hall, Lee Harrington, Harold Hoard, Chris Homan, Ed Lampert, Dave Lewis, Colleen and Rick Long, Angel Morales, Gary Priddy, Brent Ream, Dena and Tim Roberts, Dolan Smith, Jaret Snapp, Dave Sprinkles, Vicki Stafford, Missie Stremmel, Scott Venable, Becky Vogler, Charles Willis and Shelly Zimmershield, all of Sedalia; John Davis and Fred Stamps, both of Stover; Kevin Schilling, Trenton; Keith Stoneking, Waverly; and Mick Stirts, Windsor.
Each member puts in $1 for the Wednesday and Saturday Powerball drawings. They use Quick Pick to let the computer select their numbers.
Wells purchases the group’s tickets at Break Time, 2801 W. Broadway in Sedalia.
"We keep playing week after week just for the fun of it, and maybe one day we will hit the big one," Wells said. "If we win, some of us will retire, and some of us will keep working. We are from 20 to 65 years of age."
Wells has been the team captain of this big group since it began two years ago, so she knows what it takes to lead a Lottery team.
"My advice for other teams is to just keep playing and have lots of fun doing it," Wells said.
