Cape Girardeau Man Wins Top Lottery Prize

Story Photo Jared Brown, Cape Girardeau, is planning to buy a new set of golf clubs after winning the $100,000 top prize in the Missouri Lottery Scratchers game "Texas Hold ’Em Poker."
"Not a bad day’s work," said Brown, 33, after uncovering his prize. Brown stopped at Route K One Stop, 5827 K Highway in Cape Girardeau, on Aug. 1 and bought one $5 "Texas Hold ’Em Poker" ticket.
"It caught my eye," Brown said. "I’ve probably played (the Lottery) 10 times in my entire life. I guess it was all saved up for one (win)."
Brown has recently started playing golf, and he is going to use part of his prize money to buy a set of golf clubs.
The $5 game "Texas Hold ’Em Poker" officially began on Aug. 5, 2006.
