Cousins Share $8,000 Club Keno Prize
A late night phone call on Aug. 7 didn’t bother Kenneth Kirkendoll of Cairo. When the phone rang, it woke Kirkendoll, but when he heard his cousin’s voice telling him they had won $8,000, he didn’t mind being awakened. Kirkendoll and his cousin, Kara Kirkendoll of Moberly, have been playing Club Keno together for the past few years. Now the cousins are $8,000 richer.
"When I called him, I said, ’We just won $8,000!’" Kara Kirkendoll said.
Kara Kirkendoll, 29, who is a bartender at West Side Inn, 618 Concannon St. in Moberly, said the evening was slow, so she decided to try her luck playing Club Keno. A few minutes later, she and her cousin won $8,000. She let the computer select her winning Quick Pick combination. Her ticket matched eight numbers on a nine-spot game and the Bulls-Eye to win the prize.
Kara Kirkendoll said she plans to use her half of the $8,000 prize to pay bills. Kenneth Kirkendoll, 34, a Moberly firefighter, said he plans to use part of his winnings on a float trip he’s taking this weekend in southeast Missouri. He said he also plans to pay some bills.
Players can win from $1 to $100,000 per $1 ticket per drawing in Club Keno
. For an extra $1, players can win as much as $300,000 by matching all the numbers and the Bulls-Eye number in a 10-spot game.
