Liberty Man Wins $50,000 Powerball Prize

Story Photo A Liberty man won $50,000 playing Powerball on July 25. Lindsey Walton, 53, won the $50,000 prize when his ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers and the Powerball number drawn July 25 to win the third-level base prize of $10,000. Since he used the $1 Power Play feature, and the Power Play number drawn was five, the base prize was multiplied by five to $50,000.
Walton purchased his ticket at J.C. Enterprises, 215 Melrose Lane in Liberty.
For an extra $1 per play, Powerball’s Power Play feature offers the chance to multiply prizes, excluding the jackpot, up to five times the normal payout. Before each Wednesday and Saturday Powerball drawing a wheel is spun to select a number from two to five to determine how much the prize, excluding the jackpot, will be multiplied for players who selected the Power Play option.
