DREAM BRINGS ST. LOUIS MAN $25,000

Writing down your dreams pays off, at least according to one St. Louis man. James DeGraffenreid, 54, (63130**) said the numbers 1, 5, 15, 19 and 20 came to him in a dream five years ago. He has been playing those numbers in the Missouri Lottery ever since. On Oct. 12, it paid off, when he matched all five numbers in SHOW ME 5 to win $25,000 tax paid.* DeGraffenreid purchased his winning ticket at Schnucks Market, 9074 Overland Plaza in St. Louis. He plans to share his windfall with his 30-year-old daughter, pay some of his bills and buy his mom nice birthday and Christmas presents. He said he may also buy a new car. To date, 916 tickets worth $25,000 tax paid have been sold since the game began in November 1994. * Twenty-eight percent federal and 4 percent state taxes are withheld from the total prize amount of $36,764.70 to provide $25,000 cash at the time of redemption. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may receive a refund.
