Springfield Man Wins Top Prize in 'Lifetime Riches'

A Springfield man is planning to go house hunting after he claimed the top prize of $50,000 a year for life in annual payments or the lump-sun option of $800,000 in one of the Missouri Lottery’s mega Scratchers games "Lifetime Riches." Barrett Moyle, 49, said he purchased $20 worth of Scratchers tickets, including one "Lifetime Riches" ticket on June 30 from Cody’s 15, 1550 N. Glenstone Ave. in Springfield. He took the tickets home and placed them on his table.
"I didn’t scratch them for a while," Moyle said. "When I finally did, I smiled and cried, and smiled and cried."
Moyle, who is self-employed in lawn service, said he called his mother, who thought he had a problem.
"I told her, ’Yeah, I’ve got a problem. I just won a lot of money!’" Moyle said. "I think she’s been more excited about it than I have."
Moyle said he plans to take the lump-sum option of $800,000. He’s planning to use some of his prize money to buy a house, a second motorcycle and a truck.
The $10 Game, "Lifetime Riches," began on April 22, 2006. It offers more than $100 million in cash prizes, including 10 top prizes of $50,000 a year for life. Moyle’s prize was the seventh top prize claimed in the game to date.
