Arnold Woman Wins $100,000 on Independence Day

Story Photo A trip to Montana seemed out of reach for an Arnold woman until she won $100,000 playing the Missouri Lottery’s Scratchers game "$100,000 Money Madness." On July 4, Lila Pace redeemed a winning Scratchers ticket worth $20 at Arnold Phillips 66, 5 Municipal Drive in Arnold, and purchased three Scratchers tickets. She won on all three ticketS - $15, $20 and $100,000.
"After I scratched them off, I went over to my son’s house because I thought I was reading them wrong," Pace, 50, said. "I showed him the $15 and $20 tickets first, and he said they were right, and then I showed him the $100,000 one. He couldn’t believe it."
Pace, who is the general manager at Uncle Bill’s Pancake House in Manchester, said her husband is currently working in Montana, and he’s been encouraging her to come to visit him.
"He keeps telling me how beautiful the mountains are," Pace said. "I checked into airline tickets, but it was going to be too much. Now, I’m going to go to see my husband."
Pace said her birthday is in the middle of July, and she’s looking at her win as an early birthday present. She said in addition to traveling to Montana, she is also considering buying herself a new car.
"$100,000 Money Madness," a $5 ticket, officially began on June 7.
