FLORISSANT MAN WINS $25,000 TAX PAID

A military man from Florissant received an early birthday present when he won $25,000 tax-paid* in the Missouri Lottery’s SHOW ME 5 game on Monday. Thomas Schumacher won the prize just three days before his 58th birthday. Schumacher purchased his winning ticket at Dierbergs, 222 N. Highway 67 in Florissant, while he was grocery shopping. He used Quick Pick to select the winning combination. The winning numbers were: 10, 12, 17, 26 and 29. Schumacher and his wife, Vonda, plan to use the money to buy a new car and pay off some bills. To date, 912 tickets worth $25,000 tax paid have been sold since the game began in November 1994. * Twenty-eight percent federal and 4 percent state taxes are withheld from the total prize amount of $36,764.70 to provide $25,000 cash at the time of redemption. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may receive a refund.
