Brumley Woman Wins $10,000 Instantly

A Brumley woman had luck on her side July 7-8. Dena Baumann, 48, said she always stops at the same convenience store on her way to and from the casino. After winning a jackpot of more than $2,100 at the casino on July 7, she and her husband, Jim, were on their way home on July 8 when they made their usual stop at the Eugene Eagle Stop, 14318 Mt. Carmel Road in Eugene. She purchased a "$250,000 Mega Cash" Scratchers ticket that was worth $10,000.
"I just bought one ticket and was scratching it off as we pulled out of the parking lot," Baumann said. "I got down to the second to last number to scratch, and I told Jim that I think I won. We turned around, and I went back into the store to have them check it. I walked in with a big grin on my face, and the (clerk) said, ’You won, didn’t you?’"
Baumann said she and her husband have been saving money for a down payment on a house, and she plans to put her Lottery winnings in the house fund.
The $10 Game, "$250,000 Mega Cash," began on Jan. 31. It offers 30 top prizes of $250,000 and more than $100 million in cash prizes.
