Sedalia Man Wins $9,738 Prize Playing Keno

Story Photo A Sedalia man didn’t need fireworks to have a blast on the Fourth of July. Henry Hatfield was visiting Coach’s Sports Bar, 303 S. Lamine in Sedalia, with some friends on July 4 when he decided to play Club Keno. That decision paid off big when he won $9,738.
Hatfield, 40, a retired firefighter, said he had a "feeling" that it was about time for the seven-spot to hit, so he purchased a $1 ticket and used Quick Pick to let the computer select his winning seven numbers. They were: 5, 7, 27, 66, 70, 73 and 74. In addition to winning the seven-spot prize of $5,000, Hatfield also won the Progressive Jackpot for the seven-spot game for the total win of $9,738
"They were jealous," Hatfield said about his friends. "But they said, ’You’re buying the next round.’ I actually bought the next couple of rounds."
Hatfield said he plans to put his winnings in the bank for now.
Players can win from $1 to $100,000 per $1 ticket per drawing in Club Keno. Club Keno players who play the six-, seven- and eight-spot games are automatically eligible - with no additional costs ? to win the extra Progressive jackpot prize. Players can win this progressive prize along with the regular prize on a six-, seven- or eight-spot game. If the jackpot is not won during the drawing, it will continue to grow until it is won. The Progressive Jackpot is pari-mutuel, so players will share the jackpot, based on the amount and the number of winning shares in each prize category.
