Gerald Man Wins $10,000 Powerball Prize

Story Photo Frank Wilson, Gerald, is $10,000 richer after matching four of five white-ball numbers and the Powerball number in the June 27 Powerball drawing. He purchased his winning ticket at Rosebud General Store, 248 Highway 50 in Gerald. Wilson, 64, used Quick Pick to let the computer choose his numbers. His winning numbers were 9, 11, 13, 24, and the Powerball was 18.
Wilson stopped at Rosebud General Store the day after the drawing and used the Check-A-Ticket machine to check his numbers.
"I didn’t have my glasses with me," Wilson said. "I thought it was $10, but then I thought that there were too many zeros."
Wilson said he doesn’t have any plans yet for his prize money.
The third-level Powerball prize increased from $5,000 to $10,000 in August 2005, when the game was redesigned for the fourth time since it started in April 1992.
