Alabama Man Wins Top Lottery Prize While Working in Hannibal

George Ellzey, Huntsville, Ala., is $100,000 richer after uncovering the top prize in the Missouri Lottery’s Scratchers game "Big Money."
Ellzey has been working in Hannibal for six months as a purchasing agent for Schweck Steel. He purchased three of the $5 tickets during his lunch hour on June 15 at Ayerco, 1208 Mark Twain in Hannibal.
"I like to have had a heart attack," Ellzey said of uncovering his prize.
Ellzey plans to share his prize money with his brothers. He is active with the Elks Lodge and plans to also give some of his money to them to use for college scholarships.
"Big Money" officially began on Dec. 23, 2006.
