Fulton Man Uncovers $1,000 Lottery Prize

Story Photo Kevin Macker, Fulton, gave his sister some good-natured teasing after he uncovered $1,000 on the Missouri Lottery Scratchers game "$100 Million Cash Spectacular."
Macker, 48, stopped at Short Stop III, 4425 State Road J in Fulton, on June 17 and bought one of the $10 "$100 Million Cash Spectacular" tickets. He scratched his ticket in the car and couldn’t believe what he saw.
"I went in and showed them," Macker said. "He (the clerk) said, ’Five hundred dollars isn’t bad.’ I said, ’You’re not looking at all of it.’"
The first thing Macker did after confirming that he’d won $1,000 was taunt his sister with the prize. He scanned the winning ticket and e-mailed the image to his sister.
"She wasn’t home, so I called her at my mom’s," Macker said. "We do this all the time."
Macker explained that he and sister have an ongoing competition to see who wins the most playing the Lottery.
"It’s just fun," Macker added.
"$100 Million Cash Spectacular" officially began on Sept. 10, 2005. The game offers more than $102.5 million in cash prizes, including 10 top prizes of $1 million. More than 75.14 percent of the $10 game’s sales will be returned to players as prizes.
