ILLINOIS MAN WINS TRUCK AT MISSOURI STATE FAIR

An Illinois man’s trek across Missouri to the State Fair in Sedalia paid off after his name was drawn to win a brand new 1999 Dodge Ram pickup truck and $500. Lee Hoffmann of Dupo, Ill., said he came to the Missouri State Fair to see the lottery’s "Second Chance for Fun & Fortune" game show on Aug. 14. While at the fair, Hoffmann entered non-winning tickets he purchased there for a chance to be selected in a daily drawing for 10 prizes of $100. Hoffmann’s name was drawn that same night. On the final day of the fair, all 110 tickets drawn to win the daily $100 prizes during the 11-day fair were entered into the grand-prize drawing, and Hoffmann’s ticket was selected to win the truck. In addition to the truck and $500, the lottery paid state and federal withholding taxes on Hoffmann’s prize package.
