Moberly Man Wins $50,000 On Lottery Ticket

Story Photo A Moberly man uncovered a $50,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Crossword" ticket on April 2. Monroe Smith II, 62, said he bought two tickets from the "Crossword" game when he stopped at Pick-A-Dilly Quik Stop, 1200 N. Morley in Moberly. Smith took the tickets home and let his son, Monroe Smith III, scratch it. They were surprised to see one of the tickets was worth $50,000. Smith plans to use his prize winnings to pay bills, pay for some dental work, and do some repairs around his home. He also plans to share some money with his son, Monroe. The $3 game, "Crossword," officially began on March 1.
