St. Louis Woman Wins 'Deal or No Deal' Trip or Cash

A St. Louis (63135*) woman’s entry was drawn as the top-prize winner in the Missouri Lottery’s Deal or No Deal promotion on March 7. Jeny Wolf, 24, won the chance to see a taping of the popular "Deal or No Deal" game show in Hollywood or to take the cash value of the trip, which is $5,000 tax paid. Wolf’s non-winning "Deal or No Deal" entry ticket was selected from among more than 346,000 non-winning tickets entered into the drawing, which started Dec. 6.
"I’m thinking I will most likely take the money," said Wolf, when she learned of her top-prize win on March 16. "It’s (trip) a good opportunity, but I have a little boy at home, and it (travel) would be difficult. It will be nice to use the money to pay off some bills."
Wolf, who is a bank teller, bought her winning entry ticket in the store in which the bank she works is located, which is Foodland, 6155 S. Grand in St. Louis.
"I’d forgotten I even entered the promotion until I got the letter from the Lottery," she said. "I’m pretty sure I only sent in one (entry)."
Wolf said she and her husband, Andy, may also use some of the prize money to visit some relatives in South Carolina this summer.
In addition to the top-prize trip winner, five other players’ entries were also drawn on March 7 to win $1,000 tax paid. Those winners are: Charles Warren, Annapolis; Connie Henley, Eldon; Stanley Ehnes, Lebanon; Chad Auerbach, Overland Park, Kan.; and Howard Syler, Salisbury.
The promotion trip includes four-day, three-night hotel accommodations in Hollywood, tickets to attend the taping of the show, round-trip airfare, ground transportation and $1,000 cash.
The "Deal or No Deal" Scratchers ticket officially went on sale Dec. 6, 2006. The game offered a new elimination-style play action, a chance to win up to $25,000 cash and a chance to win a trip to see the taping of the show in California.
