Moberly Man, Fiancee Celebrate Valentine's Day Winning $27,777

Story Photo A Moberly man and his fiancée will remember this Valentine’s Day after they claimed a $27,777 Missouri Lottery Scratchers prize. Kenneth "Troy" Archuleta, 38, of Moberly, purchased his winning "Sizzlin’ 7’s" Scratchers ticket on Feb. 13 on his way to buy his fiancée, Sara, some ice cream.
"I decided to stop by the gas station to buy a few Lottery tickets on the way to get her some ice cream," Archuleta said. "After I scratched it off, I just sat there looking at it. Even in the drive-thru at Sonic, I kept picking it up and looking at it."
When he got home Archuleta said he and Sara began watching a movie, and he asked her, "What would you do if we could pay off the bills?" It was then that he finally told her about the win.
Archuleta, who is employed at Mid-Am Building Supply, purchased his winning ticket at Pick-A-Dilly Quik Stop, 1200 N. Morley in Moberly.
The couple plan to use their winnings to pay off some bills, put some money into savings and to pay for their June wedding.
The $2 "Sizzlin’ 7’s" Scratchers ticket officially started on Dec. 23, 2006.
