LOTTERY TO OFFER PRIZES DAILY DURING STATE FAIR
Ten daily $100 cash prizes, a Dodge Ram pickup truck and a chance to win up to $11,000 cash in a simulated game show will all be part of the Missouri Lottery’s offerings at this year’s Missouri State Fair, Aug. 12 - 22 in Sedalia.
"The State Fair is our biggest promotional event," said Shay Shoemaker, special events manager for the lottery. "The highlights this year will be the grand-prize drawing for the Dodge Ram truck on Aug. 22 and the "Second Chance for Fun & Fortune" game show on Aug. 14."
Along with the truck, the grand-prize winner will receive a check for $500. The lottery will also pay 28 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes on the prize package.
In addition, the lottery will hold a drawing each day from non-winning tickets purchased at the fair to award 10 cash prizes of $100. The lottery will also award T-shirts to fairgoers who make a $5 or more purchase of Scratchers, on-line or Pull-Tab tickets.
This year the lottery will be located behind the Administration Building.
On Aug. 14, the Missouri Lottery’s "Second Chance for Fun & Fortune" game show will make a star out of one lucky fairgoer. By entering non-winning "Fun & Fortune" tickets purchased anywhere, players will have the chance to be a contestant or audience partner in the simulated game show for a chance to win up to $11,000 cash, lottery tickets and prizes.
