Arkansas Woman Wins $25,000 Top Prize in Gainesville

Story Photo Meeting some friends for a drink turned out to be lucrative for a Mountain Home, Ark., woman. Sandra Behrendsen, 60, said she and her husband, Terry, met some friends at the Rusty Rail Grill/Saloon in Gainesville on Christmas Eve to have a drink to celebrate the holidays. While there, Behrendsen decided to buy 12 Missouri Lottery Scratchers tickets, two of which were from the "Deal or No Deal" game. One of her "Deal or No Deal" tickets turned out to be worth $25,000.
"I asked my husband, ’Is this for real?’" she said. "The first thing he said was, ’Sign it!’"
Behrendsen said she and her husband aren’t sure what they will do with the prize money. She is employed as an office manager for a mobile ultrasound equipment company in Mountain Home, Ark.
"Deal or No Deal," a $2 game, officially started on Dec. 6.
