Ashland Woman Uncovers $10,000 Prize on Christmas Eve

Story Photo audio icon Christmas came a day early for Virginia Snell of Ashland. Snell, 40, was shopping with her daughter on Christmas Eve when she bought two Missouri Lottery "Triple Dough" Scratchers tickets at Break Time, 101 Henry Clay Blvd. in Ashland. When Snell scratched her tickets two hours later, she uncovered a $10,000 prize.
"I scratched the first number and saw that it matched up, and I scratched the prize and I’m sitting there thinking cool, $1,000," Snell said. "Then, it was $1,000 all the way down the ticket."
Snell said she usually buys a few $1 Scratchers tickets on her payday twice a month, about $5 worth at a time. This time she purchased the $2 game "Triple Dough." Her choice ended up making her holiday a special one.
"It made it (Christmas) a little bit easier," Snell said. "It took a lot of stresses off me."
Snell had some time to think about what she would do with her prize money over the holiday weekend.
"I need a car really bad," Snell said.
The $2 Scratchers game "Triple Dough" officially began on Dec. 6.
