Cape Girardeau Group is Named Lottery Team of the Month

Congratulations to "The Fortune Hunters" of Cape Girardeau! "The Fortune Hunters" were recognized as the Lottery Team of the Month for December as part of the Missouri Lottery’s 2006 Lottery Captain’s promotion. The promotion awards a Lottery players group with prizes and a feature at Molottery.com each month during the calendar year.
"The Fortune Hunters" are a group of three co-workers at RM Coco in Cape Girardeau who play Powerball together. The members are: Tammy Sanders (team captain) of Oran and Barb Narsh and Connie Sexton, both of Cape Girardeau.
"The Fortune Hunters" started playing together a couple of months ago after hearing about groups winning large Lottery prizes.
"We were talking about the groups who were winning prizes and one of the girls said, ’We should do that,’" Sanders said.
The trio contributes $1 each to play Powerball every Wednesday and Saturday. Sanders purchases their tickets at Amerimart, 221 Winchester in Benton, and Fast Gas, 600 N. Main in Sikeston. "The Fortune Hunters" usually pick their own numbers using birthdays or other important dates.
They haven’t won a big prize yet, but Sanders said "The Fortune Hunters" keep playing because they believe they will win big one day.
"We think we’ll win," Sanders said. "We keep dreaming about all of that money and how much easier our lives would be."
"The Fortune Hunters" haven’t won a jackpot yet, but they already have plans for the money if they hit it big. Sanders said they would share their prize with their churches, charities, family and friends.
