Linn Man Wins $10,000 At Jefferson City Convenience Store

Story Photo A 25-year-old Linn man plans to pay off his car loan and have a nice Christmas after he uncovered a $10,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery "$100 Million Cash Spectacular" Scratchers ticket. Jeffrey "Jeff" Wood said he bought his winning ticket at Convenient Food Mart, 701 Eastland Drive in Jefferson City, on Nov. 26 when he stopped to redeem a prize from a previous Scratchers purchase. He only bought one of the "$100 Million Cash Spectacular" tickets.
"I’m paying my car note off, and I’m going to have a Merry Christmas with my new daughter," he said.
Wood, who works at Elsevier in Linn, said he became a father in October.
The "$100 Million Cash Spectacular" game, which officially started on Sept. 10, 2005, has the one of the highest payouts and offers more than $102.5 million in cash prizes, including 10 top prizes of $1 million. More than 75.14 percent of the $10 game’s sales will be returned to players as prizes.
