Clinton Man Wins $20,000 Instantly
A Clinton man and his family are looking forward to a nice Christmas after he won $20,000 playing the Missouri Lottery’s Scratchers game, "Lifetime Riches." William Gary, 56, purchased his winning ticket on Nov. 27 at Everyday Conoco, 101 N. 2nd St. in Clinton, on his way to work.
Gary, who works as a laborer, scratched his two "Lifetime Riches" tickets after he got to work.
The second ticket was the big winner.
"When I saw that I won, I told my boss, ’I’m going to Springfield,’" Gary said. "He thought that was a good idea."
Gary and his wife, Patricia, plan to use their winnings to pay a few bills and to have a nice Christmas with their four children and four grandchildren.
The "Lifetime Riches" game, which officially started April 22, has the highest payout in the Lottery’s history and offers more than $100 million in cash prizes, including 10 top prizes of $50,000 a year for life. More than 75.62 percent of the $10 game’s sales will be returned to players as prizes.
