Edwards Man Wins $3,504 Club Keno Prize
An Edwards man plans to host a Club Keno party and build a well after winning $3,504 playing Club Keno. Robert Anderson, 42, was playing Club Keno at Holiday Hills, 2825 Lick Creek Road in Edwards, on Nov. 18 when he matched all six numbers and the Bulls-Eye number in a six-spot game to win $3,504.
"I had the tickets on the bar in front of me, and it had actually been crumpled up and thrown away," Anderson said.
When the bartender checked Anderson’s ticket, he said he had "never seen it do that before." That’s when Anderson realized he had a winning ticket.
"It’s unbelievable," Anderson said. "I bought a round and jumped up and down and hollered."
The owners of Holiday Hills, Danny and Vicki Morris, traveled to Lottery Headquarters in Jefferson City with Anderson to claim his prize. Anderson said that there are several people who play Club Keno at Holiday Hills and he plans to host a Club Keno party to celebrate his win.
"I hope we have more of these," Danny Morris said.
In addition to a celebration, Anderson plans to use some his prize money to build a well. He recently purchased land, and it needs a well.
"This couldn’t have come at a better time," Anderson said.
Club Keno began in May 2002. Players can win from $1 to $100,000 per $1 ticket per drawing. For an extra $1, players can choose the Bulls-Eye option and win between $5 and $50 for matching just the Bulls-Eye number. Players can win as much as $300,000 by matching all the numbers and the Bulls-Eye number in a 10-spot game.
