Dixon Man Uncovers $5,000 Prize

Story Photo A Dixon dad is $5,000 richer after winning a $5,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket. Curtis Winters, 27, purchased his winning "Crossword" ticket on Nov. 6 at Casey’s, 100 E. 4th St. in Dixon.
Winters scratched his ticket at home later that night and was surprised to uncover his prize. The "Crossword" game is played by matching letters to spell words in a crossword puzzle.
"I didn’t believe I had that many words," Winters said.
It didn’t take long for Winters to decide what to do with his prize money. He rebuilds "hot rod" cars as a hobby and plans to use some of the money to work on his cars. Winters also plans to spend some of it on his daughter.
"I have a nine-year-old who’s going on 22," Winters said.
The $3 "Crossword" game officially began on Aug. 5.
