Columbia Railroad Employee Wins $7,000
A railroad worker from Columbia is $7,000 richer after he played a friend’s numbers in Pick 4 on the evening of Oct. 15. Arthur Lewis, 54, said his friend couldn’t play her usual numbers - 6, 5, 6, 6 - which are the birth years of her children. So Lewis said he would play her numbers. He bought two tickets with the combination 6-5-6-6, and when the numbers came up, he won two prize of $3,750 for a total of $7,000.
"I’ll share some with her and family," said Lewis, who does track maintenance for Norfolk Southern Railroad Corp. in Moberly. "I’m also going to buy a new laptop (computer)."
Lewis purchased his winning tickets at Break Time, 4 Business Loop 70 W. in Columbia.
Pick 4 is a twice-daily Numbers Game that allows players a chance to win up to $6,000.
