Vandalia Woman Wins Two Pick 4 Prizes

Story Photo A Vandalia woman doubled her excitement after she discovered she won two Pick 4 prizes in the Oct. 3 Pick 4 evening drawing. Wanda Connor, 51, won a total of $9,250 when her four winning numbers were drawn.
"I couldn’t believe it," Connor said. "My sister called and asked me if I had played my numbers. I told her I had and she said they were drawn. I had to call (the winning numbers hot line) three times before I believed it."
Connor, a registered nurse, said she normally plays two sets of numbers - the year she was born and the last four digits of her Social Security numbers. It was the year she was born - 1, 9, 5, and 5 - that made her $9,250 richer. She purchased her winning ticket at Abel’s Quick Stop, Highway 54 in Vandalia.
Connor said she plans to use her winnings to help her four kids and five grandchildren. Pick 4 is a twice-daily Numbers Game that allows players a chance to win up to $6,000.
