Mountain View Man Wins Thousands On Oct. 1 Two Years In A Row

Story Photo The first day of October is one Mountain View man’s lucky day after he uncovered a $20,000 cash prize on a Missouri Lottery "$100 Million Cash Spectacular" Scratchers ticket. Last year on Oct. 1, he bought a ticket from the same game and won $10,000. Don Knight, 56, said he won on the same game on the same date, but he bought the tickets at two different places.
"I didn’t buy it at the same place," he said. "Last year I bought the ticket at Casey’s in Willow Springs."
Knight said he purchased his winning ticket this Oct. 1 at Bullseye, 316 Ozark Ave. in Cabool. He said he stopped in to buy something to drink, and he also bought one of the "$100 Million Cash Spectacular" Scratchers tickets and a $2 ticket. Knight, who said he buys Scratchers ticket four or five times a month, discovered the win while he was at Bullseye.
"People at the store all got excited," he said.
Knight said he plans to use his prize winnings to put a down payment on a house and buy some things for his 3-year-old daughter.
The "$100 Million Cash Spectacular" game, which officially started on Sept. 10, 2005, has the one of the highest payouts and offers more than $102.5 million in cash prizes, including 10 top prizes of $1 million. More than 75.14 percent of the $10 game’s sales will be returned to players as prizes.
