ST. CHARLES MAN WINS SECOND $25,000 PRIZE

A St. Charles man has won a $25,000 tax-paid windfall for the second time in the Missouri Lottery’s SHOW ME 5 game. James "Jim" Clayton, 44, said last time he won a top prize in March of 1996, he and his wife used the money to pay bills and take a vacation in the western United States. This time, the only thing the couple has decided to do with the money is take a trip to Walt Disney World. Clayton purchased his winning ticket for last night’s drawing at Midtown 66, 524 First Capitol Drive in St. Charles. He selected five of the numbers that he had previously used to play Powerball. The winning numbers were: 2, 10, 24, 25 and 30. To date, 688 SHOW ME 5 players have won $25,000 tax paid* since that game began in November 1994. * Twenty-eight percent federal and 4 percent state taxes are withheld from the total prize amount of $36,764.70 to provide $25,000 cash at the time of redemption. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may receive a refund.
