St. Robert Woman Uncovers $25,000 Prize Instantly

Story Photo A St. Robert woman will be sporting around in her new Toyota Camry after she won $25,000 instantly playing the Missouri Lottery’s "Wild Cherries" Scratchers game. Ellen Neffgen, 55, purchased her winning ticket at LMC Convenience Store, 1302 Historic 66 W. in Waynesville, on Sept. 14.
Neffgen said she had been looking to buy a Camry, but it cost more than she wanted to spend. After she uncovered the winning $25,000 ticket while having coffee with friends at LMC Convenience Store, she called her husband, Gerhard.
"I told him I had to go to Springfield. He thought I won $1,000 again," Neffgen, who has won two $1,000 prizes playing the Lottery within the past two months, said. "When I told him I won $25,000, I told him he could go with me to Springfield or meet me at the Toyota dealership later."
Neffgen, who is retired from the Army, said she has a few trips planned over the next few months and is excited about driving her new car.
"Wild Cherries," a $2 game, officially went on sale on Aug. 5.
