Ellsinore Man Uncovers $10,000 Prize

Story Photo After a long day of work on Sept. 9, Larry Quaite of Ellsinore stopped at Simmon’s Grocery & Hardware, Highway 60 in Ellsinore. He didn’t scratch his "$100,000 Jackpot" ticket until the next morning. That’s when Quaite, 49, uncovered a $10,000 prize.
"It said $5,000 and $5,000 again," Quaite said. "I said, ’Thank the Lord.’ I was in tears of joy."
Quaite plans to use his prize to get ahead on some bills and put some money in savings. His wife, Sandra, will also enjoy his prize.
"She’s happy for me," Quaite said. "She gets a laptop computer out of this."
"$100,000 Jackpot," a $5 Scratchers game, officially began on July 1.
