St. Louis Housekeeper Cleans Up $50,000 Top Prize

audio icon A housekeeper for Autumn Oaks Apartments in West County cleaned up Sept. 1, when one of the two Scratchers tickets she bought turned out to be worth a $50,000 top prize. Linda Hermann, 41, of St. Louis (63116*) said she bought the winning "Crossword" ticket when she and a girlfriend stopped at 7-Eleven, 13515 Big Bend Road in St. Louis, before work.
"I was shocked; I’m still shocked," Hermann said when she claimed her prize on Sept. 1.
Hermann said she plans to use her prize money to buy a new roof for her house and buy herself some clothes.
"My son’s truck has been down," she said. "I’ll help him out for sure."
"Crossword," a $3 Scratchers game, officially began on Aug. 5.
