Carthage Man Wins $20,000 Lottery Prize
A $5 prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket led to a much larger prize for Freddie Pruiett, Carthage. Pruiett, 33, went to Fastrip, 301 W. Central in Carthage, on Aug. 16 to redeem his "Harley-Davidson®" ticket. He planned to redeem it for cash, but decided to get another "Harley-Davidson" ticket instead. When he scratched the ticket, he uncovered a $20,000 prize.
"I flipped out," Pruiett said. "It was awesome."
Pruiett tried to call his wife, Carrie, to tell her his good news, but she didn’t answer the phone. When she called him back, she didn’t believe that he had actually won.
With a six-year-old son and six-month-old twins, Pruiett said the prize will be helpful. He plans to use the money to pay bills.
The "Harley-Davidson" game officially began on May 27.
Non-winning "Harley-Davidson" tickets can also be entered into the final drawing in the "Ticket to Ride" promotion for a chance to win one Fat Boy motorcycle or one of 300 Harley-Davidson prize packages. The final drawing will be Oct. 4. In addition, there will be a grand-prize drawing on Oct. 4 for a grand-prize 2006 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 truck and $500.
All entries received for each of the three promotion drawings will be eligible for the grand-prize truck.
An entry into the promotion consists of one $5 "Harley-Davidson" Scratchers ticket. Players can enter the drawings in three ways: on-line at molottery.com; by depositing entries at a Missouri Lottery office; or by mailing them to:
