Hollister Daughter To Share $2,100 Top Prize With Mother

Story Photo audio icon A 21-year-old daughter and her mother, both of Hollister, are sharing a $2,100 Missouri Lottery prize. Amber Leo said she purchased the winning "7-11-21" Scratchers ticket at Murphy’s Oil U.S.A. in Ozark on Aug. 13, on her way back from a shopping trip.
"I got five of them (tickets), and I gave her (mom) three and I took two," said Leo. "She scratched off the winning one, and I was like, ’Wow!’"
Leo and her mother, Mary Ann Veirs, plan to use their prize money to fix their vehicles and find a new house or apartment. Veirs is an assistant manager for Dollar General in Hollister.
"7-11-21," a $1 Scratchers game, officially began on Aug. 5.
