A 19-year-old Imperial man will spend the new year house shopping after winning $100,000 in the Dec. 16 Powerball drawing. David Wadlow said along with buying his first house, he would also like to buy some land. He also plans to help his family with some of the money, and he may pay off his truck. Wadlow, a plumber, said he purchased his winning ticket at Oellermann’s Market, 9526 Lackland in Overland. After he purchased the ticket, he put it in a box in his bedroom until he had time to check it. It wasn’t until New Year’s Eve when he finally checked the ticket and discovered it was worth $100,000. Wadlow said he used a combinations of birthdays to select the winning combination. The winning numbers from the Dec. 16 drawing were: 3, 8, 19, 27 and 32. To date, 430 Missouri players have won $100,000 in Powerball since the game began in April 1992.
