Springfield Woman Uncovers Top Prize
A Springfield woman was praying for a good day in preparation for a job interview on Aug. 3. Helen Lynch, 26, said she had her prayers answered when she uncovered $25,000 in the Missouri Lottery’s $2 Scratchers game "Red Hot Cash."
"It’s like the biggest rush you could ever get," Lynch said.
Lynch is in the process of moving to a new apartment. After borrowing her brother’s truck, she stopped at Casey’s, 949 S. Grant Ave. in Springfield, to get supplies before she started moving. She decided to purchase four "Red Hot Cash" Scratchers tickets while she was there. She scratched her tickets in the truck before she left Casey’s and revealed her top prize.
"I’m on cloud nine," Lynch said. "I’m so excited that I’m shaking."
Lynch said she’s had a "rough couple of weeks," and she hopes her prize is the start of some good luck.
"You don’t understand how much this means," Lynch said.
Lynch plans to purchase a new computer with some of her winnings. She’s also considering taking a trip to Branson, but has no definite plans for her money.
"Red Hot Cash" officially began on July 1.
