Arkansas Man Wins $100,000 On Ticket Bought In Joplin

Story Photo audio icon A truck driver for Wal-Mart is seeing more smiley faces after he uncovered a Missouri Lottery prize worth $100,000 on a "$100,000 Jackpot" Scratchers ticket. Willie Anderson. 53, of Jacksonville, Ark., said he spent the night in Joplin on July 27, before returning home to Arkansas. While in Joplin, he stopped at Rapid Robert’s, 4549 Highway 43, and bought four Scratchers tickets. The first one he played turned out to be the big winner.
"Right off the bat, 10 percent is going to the church," said Anderson. "And that’s out of the $100,000, not what I clear."
Anderson said he and his wife, Patsy, also plan to use some of the prize money to pay off Patsy’s car and medical bills.
"We might get a new refrigerator, too," he said.
"$100,000 Jackpot," a $5 Scratchers game, officially went on sale July 1.
