"The Socialites" Are the August Lottery Team of the Month

Congratulations to "The Socialites" of Nevada! The trio of co-workers has been named the Lottery Team of the Month for August as part of the Missouri Lottery’s 2006 Lottery Captain’s promotion. The promotion awards a Lottery players group with prizes and a feature at Molottery.com each month during the calendar year.
"The Socialites" are a group of three friends who are all case managers at Heartland Hospital in Nevada. The members are: Kelly Hinton (team captain), Nevada, and Debbie Sailors and Chris Eads, both of Fort Scott, Kan.
The trio, who went to college together, started playing Powerball and Lotto together five years ago, when they started working together. Hinton said that they’re such close friends that sharing a jackpot prize would be a great experience.
"The Socialites" buy one ticket each for both Powerball and Lotto drawings each week. They purchase their tickets at Cash & Dash II, 1502 W. Austin in Nevada. They use Quick Pick to let the computer choose their lucky numbers.
They haven’t won a big prize yet, but they keep dreaming they’ll hit the jackpot and see their story on Molottery.com. That’s what keeps them playing each week.
"We keep dreaming that one of these days we’ll be on that Web site," Hinton said.
"The Socialites" already have plans for their prize if they win the jackpot. They believe that winning is not just about their dreams.
"We talk about paying bills, making a better life for ourselves and helping out friends and family," Hinton said. "We want to be able to spend more time with our families. We’re not just thinking of ourselves."
After playing and working together for five years, this group of friends has learned a few things about being in a Lottery group.
"Just keep trying," Hinton suggests to other teams. "Our motto is, ’If you don’t play, you can’t win.’"
