Huntsville Man Wins $10,000 Powerball Prize

Story Photo A Huntsville man said he is proud to say he is "debt free" after he won $10,000 playing Powerball. John Williams, 56, matched four white-ball numbers and the Powerball number to win the third-level prize during the July 29 drawing.
Williams, a Huntsville city employee, said in addition to paying off debts, he said he and his wife, Geneva, will be able to enjoy their upcoming vacation to North Carolina even more.
"I bet not many people can say they’re going on vacation without any debt,"
Williams said. "This is great!" Williams said he is also planning to use some of his prize money to help his four grandchildren get ready for the school year.
Williams is the father of three sons, Sgt. John Williams, Lorenzo Williams and Michael Williams.
Williams used Quick Pick to let the computer choose his winning combination when he purchased his ticket at Casey’s, 410 S. Main St. in Huntsville.
