Marshall Woman Wins $20,000

Story Photo audio icon A Marshall woman can go shopping for a recliner after her Missouri Lottery "Lifetime Riches" ticket turned out to be worth $20,000 on July 16. Deidra Scott, 41, said she has wanted a recliner for quite some time.
"I told my husband, ’The next thing you’ve got to buy me is a recliner,’" said Scott. "I think I might go on and get it."
Scott said in addition to the recliner, she plans to pay off her truck and motorcycle loans with the prize money. Her husband, Beal, may also buy a cooling device to aid the central air conditioning in their home.
Scott, who is a developmental assistant at the Marshall Habilitation Center, said she bought her winning ticket on July 16 at Bee Line Snack Shop, 881 W. Boyd St. in Marshall. She said she has also won $1,000 prizes on three other tickets this year.
The "Lifetime Riches" game, which officially started April 22, has the highest payout in the Lottery’s history and offers more than $100 million in cash prizes, including 10 top prizes of $50,000 a year for life. More than 75.62 percent of the $10 game’s sales will be returned to players as prizes.
