Retired Truck Driver Hauls in a $40,000 Prize

Story Photo A retired truck driver from Warsaw had four times the luck when he multiplied his $10,000 Powerball prize by four using the Power Play option. Oscar McNeil, 80, matched four white-ball numbers and the Powerball number in the July 8 drawing. His winning numbers were: 32, 44, 49, 50 and the Powerball was 13.
Using Power Play allows all Powerball prizes except the jackpot to be multiplied up to five times. Players can add the Power Play option for $1. McNeil said he once multiplied a $7 Powerball prize by five to win $35 and has added the Power Play option every time he’s played since.
McNeil bought his winning ticket at Fast Break, 1525 Commercial St. in Warsaw. He used Quick Pick to let the computer choose his numbers.
McNeil plans to use his prize to pay medical bills.
"It came at a time when we really needed it," McNeil said.
