Stockton Man Wins $20,000 Playing Cash Spectacular Ticket

Story Photo A retired Stockton man stopped to gas up his truck and ended up winning $20,000 on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket. Jerry Shannon, 76, said he stopped at Jump Stop in Humansville during the week of June 11 and bought $40 worth of gas. Since he was paying with a $50 bill, he decided to use the extra $10 to buy one "$100 Million Cash Spectacular" ticket. That ticket turned out to be worth $20,000.
Shannon said he has already used some of the prize money to pay off a home improvement loan.
"My daughter was talking about going to Albuquerque to see my son," he said. "We’ll probably do that, too."
The new "$100 Million Cash Spectacular" game, which officially started on Sept. 10, 2005, has one of the highest payouts and offers more than $102.5 million in cash prizes, including 10 top prizes of $1 million. More than 75.14 percent of the $10 game’s sales will be returned to players as prizes.
