Arnold Dad Uncovers $25,000 Instant Prize

Story Photo A new dad from Arnold recently uncovered a $25,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Red Hot Cherries" Scratchers ticket. John Dane, 37, said he and his wife, Michelle, just became first-time parents of a baby boy three month ago, and now their good fortune continues with his recent win.
"I just bought it (ticket) on a whim," Dane said. "I bought two (tickets), and it (the winning ticket) was the second one."
Dane, who is a district supervisor for a company called Campaigners, said on June 6, he stopped at 7-Eleven, 1680 Bigbill Road in Arnold, to buy a soda. While there, he also bought two of the $2 Scratchers tickets.
Dane said the money will come in handy to pay the expenses incurred with having their son, and it will help start a savings account for him. The Danes also plan to take a vacation to visit family.
"Red Hot Cherries," a $2 Scratchers game, went on sale on Jan. 28.
