Jefferson City Man Wins $5,005 Playing Keno
A Jefferson City man who stopped for a drink at the Jefferson City Eagles Club with his father ended up winning $5,005 while also playing the Missouri Lottery’s Club Keno game. Douglas "Doug" Borgmeyer, 39, said he won the prize on the first of five keno games he played on June 3.
"I don’t know yet what I will do with the prize money," he said. "I’ll probably share some with my family."
Borgmeyer, who is a heavy equipment mechanic for Capital Quarries, used Quick Pick to select his Club Keno numbers in the seven-spot games. He matched seven numbers to win $5,000 in one game, and he matched one number, the Bulls-Eye, to win $5 in another game.
Club Keno began in May 2002. Players can win from $1 to $100,000 per $1 ticket per drawing. For an extra $1, players can chose the Bulls-Eye option and win between $5 and $50 for matching just the Bulls-Eye number. Players can win as much as $300,000 by matching all the numbers and the Bulls-Eye number in a 10-spot game.
