Fair Grove Man Wins $10,000 Instantly
A Fair Grove man is feeling lucky after he recently won $10,000 playing one of the Missouri Lottery’s newest Scratchers games, "Lifetime Riches." Daniel Cowin, 50, purchased his winning ticket at Icenhower Grocery, 103 W. Old Mill Road in Fair Grove. He claimed his prize on April 21.
Cowin said he had seen the new "Lifetime Riches" Scratchers game at another retail location and asked about it at Icenhower Grocery when he stopped for gas. After he purchased his ticket he went outside to scratch it off.
"I saw the $10,000, but I couldn’t believe it," Cowin said. "I took it back in (to the store) and said, ’Tell me I’m seeing this right.’"
Cowin, a construction worker, said he and his wife, Ellen, used some of his winnings to pay a debt and shared the rest with his mother-in-law.
"She’s been my mother, too, for more than 30 years," he said.
The new "Lifetime Riches" game, which officially started April 22, has the highest payout in the Lottery’s history and offers more than $100 million in cash prizes, including 10 top prizes of $50,000 a year for life. More than 75.62 percent of the $10 game’s sales will be returned to players as prizes.
