Marceline Police Chief Wins $10,000 Powerball Prize

Story Photo The Marceline police chief "chased down" a $10,000 prize in the April 26 Powerball drawing. Thomas Bendure, 50, matched four white-ball numbers and the Powerball number to win the third-level prize. His winning numbers were 12, 26, 48, 55 and the Powerball number was 14.
Bendure used Quick Pick to let the computer choose his winning combination when he purchased his ticket at Casey’s, 1601 N. Missouri in Marceline.
The morning after the drawing, Bendure was checking the numbers on his computer. He had two co-workers double check his numbers to be sure he had won.
"We were all shocked," Bendure said.
Bendure said he has won $100 before playing Powerball, but never a prize this large. He plans to use his winnings to pay bills.
